Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part Eight

We thought it would work but it did not.
We thought things would be better but it's worse.
What should we do now?

When you're so stuck in the middle and in a dilemma, you have no choice but either one would have to sacrifice. And in this situation, I choose to sacrifice myself. It's not an easy decision but I have no choice. It's for the best of everyone and the situation.

We still have a long and winding road to go. This is just a small obstacle. Am foreseeing that there will be things that are worse than this.

XOXO

Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part Seven

Have you wonder how much an engagement ring would cost? I did my little research. And found out that it's not cheap at all! You need at least $10, 000 USD for a nice ring from Tifanny & Co.
As recommended by Kenny Foo, this is Princee Cut 2.5ct from Tiffany & Co. and it cost AU$48,900.

This is the Tiffany Setting, 2.5ct, also from Tiffany & Co. and it cost US$41,500.

Come to think of it, aren't these a little too pricey? I mean, it's an engagement ring. Yes, no doubt it's for a life time, but still, it's a ring. But of course, this is a diamante ring. So somehow, it would worth this much.

Chris Medina and his touching story

Also, I saw this video on YouTube. It's so touching, that I wonder, will anyone love someone till they die? In this case, he does. He and his girlfriend got engaged and promised each other that they will marry 2 years after engagement. However, she got into a really bad accident and caused her to fall into coma and she just woke up recently, with disabilities for life. She might recover, but very rare chance,  according to the doctor. Yet, he has not left her. He took care of her ever since then, waiting for the day she would wake up.

I mean, the bottom of the line is - is not easy to find a guy who loves you so much that he would do anything for you. In my Media Ethics class today (or rather for the past few days, almost a week), we were watching this show called Network, filmed in 1976. Story speaks of how controversial network media could be and how badly they want their ratings to go up, to the extent they would kill someone for bad rating (well you have to somehow watch the show to get what I mean). Anyway, the side story of the show, tells the tale of how a married man would cheat on his wife who were married for many years for a younger woman. No doubt in the end he went back to his family and wife; yet he cheated - slept with another woman and even lived with her under the same roof for 6 months. So at the end of the day, in the real world, it's not easy to find a man who doesn't cheat and stay loyal to you till the end of life. If you do, hold tight to it. And even if you found someone who doesn't buy you fancy stuff or sacrifice  as much yet he is willing to do anything for you, hold on to him. You'll never know if you would ever find love like that again.

I once heard that in order to catch a man's heart, a woman has to act weak and innocent - so that the man could show his ego and protect them. I am against this theory. In this modern era, women are pretty par with men. Women still need men, but not as much. And I have to say - money doesn't buy everything. Money can't buy love. If a guy is rich and can buy you all the riches  in the world, that doesn't mean he loves you entirely. As seen in Valentine's Day, Dr. Harrison Copeland (played by Patrick Dempsey) - he is rich and he has a family; yet he cheated on his family with Julia (Jennifer Garner).

Love someone, as though you love yourself. He/She will be part of your life sooner that you realize it. And do not cheat - it hurts the other party really bad and he/she might not be able to love another again.

Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part Five

"Happy Anniversary 1 year and 1 month from unknown secret admirer."

That's written on the card on the flowers. It's so hilarious because I was at Des Moines the whole afternoon for an Upper Iowa University Alumni Event and when I was back I saw that on Jerome's desk. Well speaking of that event, I was there, doing mostly nothing but talk to people. I met Scott Lebin, one of UIU's board of trustees, spoke with Debbie Walker - the First Lady, President Alan Walker, and also one of the staff from Des Moines center. Not forgetting, Bill Duffy, the Director of Academic Extension and he said, "Isabel you're everywhere. You're with the Collegian and the yearbook. Now you're with PAST". Well I guess I am just very involved. Trying to add more colors to my resume. :D

Anyway, it was our anniversary yesterday. It was so sweet of him to walk all the way downtown to get me the flowers (it was freaking cold yesterday with the wind chill, it was worst). It was very sweet of him and it's like AWWWW.. No doubt I wasn't that well, I trully appreaciate what my secret admirer did. And I strongly believe my secret admirer is Jerome Chong Wei Mun.

Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part Four

Careless Whisper by George Michael - an all time classic which I know quite a number of people would like. Here are the lyrics to the song:

I Feel So Unsure
As i take your hand
And lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies
Something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad goodbyes

[Chorus]

I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should have known better than to cheat a friend
And waste a chance that i've been given
So i'm never gonna dance again
The way i danced with you

Time can never mend
The careless whisper of a good friend
To the heart and mind
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/g/george-michael-lyrics/careless-whisper-lyrics.html ]
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find

[Chorus]

Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now who's gonna dance with me
Please stay

[Chorus]

Now that you've gone
Now that you've gone
Now that you've gone
Was what i did so wrong
So wrong that you had to leave me alone

So what do you think he was trying to sing? In my opinion and I read quite a number of reviews, it's a song about a relationship, a broken relationship and repentance. The guy did something wrong to the lover and betrayed her. The "dance" in the song means relationship. Now he sees how badly he hurt that girl. It came to a point where he realized how badly he destroyed something that matters to him, but there's nothing he can do to make it better. The matter seems unforgivable, and the only thing to do and one of the best thing to do is to let go. The wound is so deep, that they couldn't even be friends anymore, as the wound is so deep, the whisper that is carelessly uttered deeply cuts through them.

Sometimes when you treasure something too much, you tend to even do more mistakes. But in this case, the guy did something so badly that there's no turning back. Guess it will remain as a careless whisper forever.

Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part Two

Well am so glad I get to see all my friends again here at Fayette (not all but most of them).

And achievement for today:

  1. Meet up with Jun Shen and Najwa and introduced them to a few friends here in UIU.
  2. Clean up and unpacked my luggage from Michigan. (Yes, am still sad that I came back so soon)
Oh and I love how I manage to catch up and do some girl gossip with Jessica about our holidays and also the stuff she wants and needs. Well we had our talk about how much money have been used so far and it's not doing too good and we have to start spending less for better trips in the future. See, future planning.

And I definitely would love to share my VS Wish List. I love a few makeup stuff from there but it's just a wish. Still thinking about getting them.. :(

Twenty Eleven Chapter One Part One

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Am back to blogging! YAY!

Well been having a great year so far. School's gonna start soon. Am so gonna miss my sister's family here in Michigan; and my dad's going back to Malaysia. *sob sob*

Then I was listening to Glee's Marry You, and I found out it's from Bruno Mars. I am surprised. Didn't quite expect Bruno Mars to sing song as such. It's bubbly and cute. Lovely song I should say. KUDOS to Bruno Mars.

I got so addicted to the song, I even Google those dresses worn by the girls in the show. Guess what, it's by designer, Jenny Yoo. Here are a few I found:

Worn by Quinn. Awesome dress I should say.

Worn by Rachel. Something simple and sweet.

Worn by Santana, my favorite dress of all. Looks yummy! :D

But guess what, all these dresses cost USD300++. I was like OMG! This is crazy! Now my job is to find something similar but at a lower and affordable range.

Well that's all I have to say now.
